Blood Donation CampsRegular Blood Donation Camps are organised in Universities, Colleges and at different events to collect blood for the Thalassemia kids. Thalassemia is a blood
disorder passed down through families (inherited) in which the body makes an abnormal form or inadequate amount of haemoglobin. (Haemoglobin is the protein in red blood cells that carries oxygen. The disorder results in large numbers of red blood cells being destroyed, which leads to anaemia.)
At these camps free blood tests are also conducted (Blood CP, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Aids, Syphilis, Malaria Parasite and Thalassemia.
