On October 15, White Cane Safety Day is observed around the world.
In the United States, it is a national observance, which was first celebrated in 1964, after the proclamation by President Lyndon B. Johnson.
White Cane Safety Day celebrates the achievements of blind or visually impaired people. A white cane is an important mobility tool for such people as well as the symbol of their independence. Canes have been used by blind people for centuries, but the white cane was introduced in the early 20th century. Canes were painted white to be more easily visible.
Acts of Kindness Pakistan observes every year White Canes Safely Day and donating White Canes on this occasion. A short walk is also arranged to show respect for those who can’t see.
This year as usual Acts of Kindness will celebrate the day at Anjuman Faiz ul Islam. The event will start at 11:00AM and will finish at 02:00PM.
Breast cancer is the most common invasive cancer in women and the second leading cause of cancer death in women after lung cancer.
Acts of Kindness Pakistan is arranging every year an Awareness Seminar about Breast Cancer to spread the knowledge among the citizens. Team AOK believes that sharing knowledge is one of the best sources to reshape the society. Charges in behaviour is possible only through proper dialogues, workshops and seminars.
We are expecting a huge number of participants in our Seminar this year. If you are interested to learn more from experts about this killer disease so mark your calendar and join the females only Seminar in Faiz ul Islam Complex in Faizabad Rawalpindi.
